Savannah Trash The Dress | Portrait

This past weekend I was in Savannah, Georgia! I was down south for multiple reasons. It just so happened to be my friend Eden’s 30th birthday so we HAD to do a fun girl’s weekend. Eden is a photographer like myself and I knew it wouldn’t take too much arm twisting to get Lauren McClain back into her wedding dress! 🙂 Lauren chose me to photographer her wedding last October. She was a beautiful bride then and is again now parading around Savannah! Lauren and David both live in Savannah and I’ve been dying to do a session in their town. This is technically a trash the dress session. Not that a bride has to actually trash their dress but it’s a little less stressful to do unique poses on a day after the wedding. In the south this is done before the wedding day and is called a bridal portrait. When it’s done after the wedding the session is called TTD or trash the dress.

Forsyth Park Fountain is an iconic symbol of Savannah so we started here for classic portraits.

Here is the same shot with natural lighting only.

Then some whimsical shots with a red parasol.

David came along today too. I think he felt a little left out so he wanted to do his owe posing!

So pretty!

An intimiate shot of the two newlyweds!

I love how the coloring on this one reminds me of the old postcards from the 1940s. I normally don’t do a lot of coloring on my images but felt like it with this session. 🙂

Lauren wanted a shot with a horse downtown. We hit the streets right at twilight to catch the rich blue skies.

Savannah has so much history. I wanted to capture a little mystique here.

Some spooky shots!

Back to the fun!

A little behind the scenes to capture these shots… You can see Lori crouching behind Lauren… Eden shooting here… David holding another light. 🙂 The left is just with the straight flash, the right shows a second flash aka crouching Lori. ha ha ha.

It started to rain… cute shot before crossing traffic.

Unexpected fountain on the way to the garage at the end of the shoot. Eden took the shot on the far right. Love it! Thank you Lauren and David for a super fun evening! Thank you Lori for assisting!!! Thanks Eden for being up for a shoot on your birthday weekend!!
